Where sewing gets social and we're changing the world one stitch at a time
A great way to sit and sew all day.
Come along with any sewing project you want, mainly for patchwork and quilting, but anything goes. There isn't any tuition here, only plenty of friendship, shared knowledge and a great social sewing day!
This year we have moved into the main hall of St John's Community Centre, giving us plenty of room. As always I will ensure we have plenty of irons, a cutting out table and I will bring my haberdashery shop. But if there is anything that you would like, then contact me and I can bring it along.
The third Sunday in every month, from 10:00am to 4pm in the main hall at St John's Community Centre, Church Street, Penistone, Sheffield S36 6AR. Free parking, tea, coffee and biscuits. Bring your own lunch.
This years dates are:
Sunday 19th September 2021
Sunday 17th October 2021
Sunday 21st November 2021
Sunday 19th December 2021 - This will be in the lower hall, so limited numbers available.
Sewing Mends the Soul
I am passionate about creating things, sewing and knitting in particular. Having over 40 years sewing experience, learning on my Grandma's knee, I have accrued a vast knowledge of sewing. I'm always looking for new things to sew and enjoy exploring new creative ideas.
I love to make anything with a sewing machine. From dressmaking, including lingerie and corsets; patchwork and quilting; soft furnishings; bags and accessories, if it can be sewn on a machine I'll have a go.
I have a market stall on Saturdays selling haberdashery, quilting tools, and now fabric. I am aiming to bring the best quality at competitive prices to my fellow sewers and am now offering this to online customers.
As well as taking my haberdashery and fabric to sewing classes, I can also be seen at the Market Barn in Penistone
