Where sewing gets social and we're changing the world one stitch at a time
Come and learn to sew / improve your sewing skills in my Tuesday evening lessons. My lessons are relaxing and you work at your own pace. All levels of sewing are covered and as yet, I have not come across a technique I am unable to teach. There will be plenty of laughter and chatter involved, so please bring a sense of humour.
Lessons are Tuesdays, 6pm to 9pm, in the IT Room at St John’s Community Centre, Church Street, Penistone. Bring yourself a mug, as there is free tea, coffee and biscuits. St Johns also boasts plenty of free off-road parking available.
Lessons are £12.00 per session
I will bring my haberdashery stall with me for those much needed essentials, however if there is something you are interested in (that is for sale on my website), then email or text me before 3pm on Tuesday and I will bring it along.
If you don't have a sewing machine, then I have machines available and these are £2.00 per machine for the evening and have to be pre-booked. Go to:

Sewing Mends the Soul
Claire Jakins
store owner
I am passionate about creating things, sewing and knitting in particular. Having over 40 years sewing experience, learning on my Grandma's knee, I have accrued a vast knowledge of sewing. I'm always looking for new things to sew and enjoy exploring new creative ideas.
I love to make anything with a sewing machine. From dressmaking, including lingerie and corsets; patchwork and quilting; soft furnishings; bags and accessories, if it can be sewn on a machine I'll have a go.
I have a market stall on Saturdays selling haberdashery, quilting tools, and now fabric. I am aiming to bring the best quality at competitive prices to my fellow sewers and am now offering this to online customers.
